Calendar Project - Design Fundamentals 2

Design Fundamentals - our teacher wanted us to each make a page for a calendar...I got Feb and the cover of the calendar. The only requirements my team put on the project were to have a 5x5 calendar within the design and it must be 11x17 and the colors should be black and white with one spot color. I choose pink! Shocking....

Family Calendar

Jen and I have been needing a family calendar, but I am not a big fan of regular calendars.

I saw this idea on craftster.org http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=255567.msg2853260#msg2853260 and thought it was so cute.

Here is my take on it.

I found a picture frame at good will for $3.99 and everything else I had at home. I painted and distressed the frame. I then used black permanent marker on the inside for the lines and letters (I wrote the letters backwards) and mounted different paper art....I plan on changing it but it was what I had on hand. I also added a little bird in her nest. The great thing is, that it is easy to change. I then used a dry erase marker to put on a quote that I can change every month and put in the month, days and activities. I LOVE IT. I was surprised that Jennifer liked it too, considering she hated the frame. :)
