Fun Project but bad picture. - Color Project

This color project encompasses two concepts listed below. Same composition with transparency but on two different colors to show the way color change in relation to other colors.

Bezold Effect – a single color change within a pattern affected the appearance of all the remaining colors in a pattern.

Simulated Transparency – A type of color interaction in which opaque media produces the illusion of actual transparency.

It is hard to see in this picture, but it is a bubble wand with different bubbles intermixing.

Color Fundamentals Class

I thought I would post some of my projects as they come up so I can see the progression. Some of the projects will be very very rough and bad because I have not sketched or done any basic techniques in several years. Let me know what you think.

Color Branding....Basically why do they use certain colors and what do those colors make you feel. I choose Orbits gum and I went from there. Color Wheel - painted wheel and labeled. The paint I used was Gouache so you can see the colors pretty well, but the orange I did in acrylic so you can't see it clearly.

I pressed these petals and then started thinking they looked a little like butterfly wings. It was probably late at night or I was low on sleep but I glued them to the inside of my sketchbook. Just a touch of whimsy..who can pass that up. Plus the colors stayed nice after drying out..to go with my color class theme.

Recycling Art can be sticky...

I had this plain wooden furniture leg and I was trying to figure out what to do with it. I needed a new pin cushion and it just evolved from there. I ended up putting a cork base on it to have more room to stick pins and to keep the balance. I love this fabric and I used a green and white grosgrain ribbon to finish it off with a large pearl button. I might go back and paint the white later, but for now....I like the contrast of the busy pattern and the white base....
